👇 Hamstring Strains 👇

.
Hamstring strains are one of the most common muscle injuries in sports that require sprinting and change of direction such as footy, soccer and AFL
.
Our hamstrings are made up of 3 muscles on the backs of our legs. They originate from the lower part of our pelvis and attach just below the knee joint
.
Acute injuries occur during a sudden movement or force being applied to the hamstrings that is too great for them to handle
.
You are more likely to injure your hamstring as you get older, or if you have suffered a previous injury or have poor flexibility and strength
.
Hamstring strains have a very high recurrence rate. It is crucial to achieve full flexibility and strength before returning to sport
.
Here Simon is focusing on single leg RDL’s. This exercise both stretches and strengthens the hamstring muscles making it a great compound exercise for rehab
.
If you have any questions about hamstring injuries or would like to rehab your hamstrings properly, then make an appointment, DM us or book online!
